GENERATIONS

What does F1 mean?

An F1 Bernedoodle is a first-generation that is crossed between a Poodle and a Bernese mountain dog. They are 50% Poodle and 50% Bernese. F1 means that they are a first time cross between a Bernese and a Poodle.  They are usually don't shed, but if they do it is lightly. They are best suited for families with mild allergies.  The coat can range from shaggy to wavy and sometimes even curly.

What does F1B mean?

An F1B Bernedoodle is a cross between an F1 Bernedoodle and a Poodle, which makes the dog 75 % Poodle and 25% Bernese. They F1B Bernedoodles are typically suited for homes with moderate allergies. The F1B coat usually has a much tighter curl and is what is recommended for a home with allergies.

What does F2 mean?

An F2 Bernedoodle is still 50 percent Bernese and 50% Poodle, but this generation is created from crossing two Bernedoodles. The coats are less predictable as far as shedding or curl because of the diversity.
